I was looking for a reason to use the NextGEN gallery plugin for Wordpress, so I used some pictures from our trip through India. Here is a slide-show (created with JW Image Rotator from Jeroen Wijering) of our visit there last year.

APPLE Inc. faces a growing threat to its iPhone business, as renegade stores spring up online to sell unauthorized software for this device. However, still illegal, there are several ways to purchase iPhone apps outside the iTunes store. In all cases you have to jailbreak the iPhone and install some third party software, like Cydia or Rock that Phone.

Sometimes it’s a tough job to be a CEO, especially when you have to hand out pink slips to your employees.

But Jerry Yang, CEO & Chief Yahoo has done a pretty good job firing 1,500 of his employees. First he writes an e-mail to them and than sends his managers a list of do’s and dont’s.

I must admit Jerry, another job well done !!

Yesterday Wordpress released Wordpress 2.7 RC 1.
Waiting on the final release we can have a look at the totally new user interface, automated version upgrade and about 280 fixes have been applied since its beta 3 version.
With release 2.7 Wordpress will never be the same again.

I just turned on the news and heard about several terrorist attacks in Mumbai India.

So it happened that my girlfriend and I were in Mumbai just three weeks ago.We stayed at the VolgaII hotel, near Leopold (a diner place where a lot of backpackers have their meals) and near the gateway of India. These places are heavily under fire.
Surprisingly when we were there we did not sense any fear or threat whatsoever.

Uitkeringsinstantie UWV heeft een groot automatiseringsproject stop moeten zetten. De schade: 87 miljoen euro. Het ICT-project, waar tweeënhalf jaar samen met Logica aan gewerkt is, is mislukt. Het project zou bedoeld zijn voor de uitvoering van de WIA (voorheen WAO).

Ja hoor, sinds 9 augustus is µTorrent 1.8 een feit! En wat een verschil.
Ik gebruik µTorrent al geruime tijd, omdat het een stabiel programma is om mijn zaakjes te downloaden.

Een van de grootste verbeteringen zit in het gebruik van Teredo tunneling. De interface is licht veranderd en de RSS mogelijkheden zijn flink uitgebreid.

Ik heb nu redelijk wat materiaal gedownload met µTorrent 1.8 en de snelheid overtreft ruimschoots mijn verwachtingen.

Vanmorgen is er een grote brand geweest in 1 van de kantoren van Apple. Te weten de research and development afdeling van Apple op Valley Green Drive te Cupertinois is in rook opgegaan. De brand was vanmorgen 9.30 uur Nederlandse tijd onder controle. Wat de definitieve schade is, is nog niet bekend. Maar ik ben bang dat mijn nog steeds uitgestelde aanschaf van de IPhone er niet goedkoper op zal worden :-(
