VS-rapport: Veel moslims in Nederland gediscrimeerd
In hun jongste jaarlijkse rapportage over de naleving van de mensenrechten in de wereld, maken de Verenigde Staten zich steeds meer zorgen over de behandeling van moslims in Europa. Washington spreekt onder meer over veel gevallen van discriminatie in Nederland. Volgens Washington is bovendien wereldwijd sprake van „nieuwe vormen” van antisemitisme.

• Discrimination against Muslims in Europe is an "increasing concern"
• Sri Lanka violated human rights at the end of last year's campaign against Tamil Tigers and has also curbed press freedom
• Violence and human rights violations in Russia's volatile North Caucasus region have risen dramatically over the past year
• Burma's military junta continued "human rights violations and abuses"
• Cuba "continues to deny its citizens' basic human rights"

In the Netherlands, conflict between the values of free speech and the protection of religious and ethnic minorities was a continuing subject of debate; there were reports of societal discrimination and violence against some religious and ethnic minorities, of violence against women and children, and of trafficking in persons for sexual exploitation.

Maar Europa heeft een slechte reputatie
Ze dienen wel alles op alles te zetten om zelf schoon schip te maken natuurlijk.
@loner Ondertussen heeft niet alleen Europa een slechte naam, maar ook Nederland. Kijk om je heen, en de sociale sites puilen uit van antisemitisme dat er wordt gepost, en waar niet tegen wordt opgetreden.

Je weet natuurlijk net zo goed als ik dat we daar tot in den treure op kunnen wachten.
"The government generally respected the human rights of its citizens, although there were problems in some areas. There were several high-profile cases involving corruption by political leaders. Institutional, legal, and societal discrimination against Arab citizens, Palestinian Arabs, non-Orthodox Jews, and other religious groups continued, as did societal discrimination against persons with disabilities. Women suffered societal discrimination and domestic violence. The government maintained unequal educational systems for Arab and Jewish students. While trafficking in persons for the purpose of prostitution greatly decreased in recent years, trafficking for the purpose of labor remained a problem, as did abuse of foreign workers."
